The Woods Hole Community Association operates the Woods Hole Community Hall, the adjacent Old Fire Station, the Woods Hole School, and the historic Swift Barns. The Community Association makes the buildings available to the village for a variety of educational, cultural, and entertainment activities.

Community Hall, whose original structure dates to 1878, is the village’s space for plays, concerts, art shows, dances, and festivals; an artists’ cooperative gallery is located in the building as well. The Old Fire Station has community meeting rooms, hosting yoga, drawing, tai-chi, sword dancing, film screenings, AA meetings, a weekend craft-and-farmers’ market, and other activities. The Woods Hole School is home to a daycare cooperative and a pre-school, as well as the summer Children’s School of Science. The Swift Barns, rebuilt by the Community Association, are utility buildings and offered to the community as project work space.

Individual groups manage the posting, publicity, and advertising for their own events. Events sponsored by Community Association can be found on our Activities page. In addition, there is a bulletin board outside Community Hall with upcoming events posted. To inquire about scheduling activities in the Hall or Fire Station, contact the Activities Director (WHCAWHMAyahoocom) .

The Community Association, which is governed by a board of trustees, owns the Community Hall. The Fire Station, the Woods Hole School, and the Swift Barns are leased by the Community Association, which provides for their maintenance and operation.

The Board of Trustees of the Woods Hole Community Association meets on the third Tuesday of every month, 7:30pm, upstairs at the Old Fire Station. Meetings are open to all.
